The rise of
Idola Motorsport

Founded in 2022, Idola Motorsport is a British racing team that emerged from the experienced VR Motorsport outfit. Based in the UK, the team made an immediate impact by winning the inaugural Praga Cup UK championship in its debut season, fielding talented drivers such as Jimmy Broadbent and Gordie Mutch. Building on its early success, Idola expanded its operations into European motorsport and began competing in the GB4 Championship in 2024, marking its entry into single-seater racing.

Looking ahead, Idola Motorsport will field a three-car team in the GB4 Championship for the 2026 season, continuing its mission to develop drivers and compete at the highest levels of junior motorsport.

Torque of the Town

Led by John Whatley, Al Boulton and Kim Goss, Idola Motorsport combines advanced engineering expertise with a strong driver development program.

The team continues to grow through partnerships with Arden Motorsport and the Young Racing Driver Academy (YRDA), establishing itself as a respected independent racing team within the UK.

Fueling the Future

Idola Motorsport has welcomed a dynamic mix of talent, from experienced racers to rising stars.

Sim racer Jimmy Broadbent and Gordie Mutch led the team to victory in the Praga Cup UK, while former GP2 driver Rodolfo González brought valuable experience.

Today, Idola focuses on developing young drivers such as Kit Belofsky, Aleksander Mizera, and Eva Morris, helping support their talent and guiding their progression from karting to single-seater racing through the GB4 Championship.
